GIRLS TACKLE RUGBY

The Girls Tackle Rugby Program was started in the Fall of 2024 to encourage Middle School and High School Girls to try the sport of Rugby. Our Goal is to introduce and teach Tackle Rugby following the Laws of the Game established by USA and World Rugby focusing on safe practices, sportsmanship, and correct forms and positioning while creating a fun and positive experience!

MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS

AGES 10-18**

(Players Age as of 09/01/2025 and must be a Student)

When

Girls Tackle Rugby is played in BOTH the Fall and the Spring. Each Season focuses on a different form of Tackle Rugby.

WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY

GAMES

Games are Scheduled by the Chesapeake Girls Rugby League and are typically held on Sundays.

UNIFORMS

Player Registration includes Rugby Shorts and Socks To Keep.

Official Tackle Rugby Jerseys are handed out prior to each Match and collected at the end of the Matches.

**PLAYERS DO NOT KEEP THE JERSEY**

EQUIPMENT

Players will need a Mouth Guard and Cleats.

Football, Soccer, or Lacrosse Cleats are allowed for use by USA Rugby.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Any Player playing Tackle Rugby is required to Register in Rugby Explorer PRIOR to the first Match of the Season. (https://xplorer.rugby/)
